The Death’s-head Hawkmoth is one of the only species of moth that can emit sound. It does so by expelling air from the pharynx (basically the throat), to make… tiny adorable squeaks.

That looks like me in Sunday mornings shortly after I wake up
The other day, leaving work around midnight, I stumbled on this little thing crying all by her lonesome in the parking lot. With the help of some coworkers and some chicken, I was able to catch her. The vet estimates she’s about 4 weeks old, and diagnosed her FeLV/FIV negative and heart-shatteringly adorable. Not including her tail, she amounts to about seven inches of fluff.
Unfortunately, as the forces of physics are continually lobbing cats at me, I’m at full capacity and will have to find a home for her. Until she’s at least old enough to have her first round vaccinations, though, I’ll have the pleasure of fostering her.
(For some reason, the purple scrunchy is her favorite thing. She gallops and bunny-hops all over the house with it.)
